Shanghai... Woo hoo!

I wouldn't say I love Shanghai, but I did enjoy the company there. After all, it's the people around that makes the holiday fun...

I have my list of TOP 5 things I hate about Shanghai.
  1. The SPITTING - you get people spitting north, south, east and west. There is a warning sound though. Imagine you've got a ton of phlegm in your throat, and you're mustering up all the phlegm, ready to spit it all out into the sink. It is THAT sound. RUN for your life when you hear it. You never know which direction a spit would be coming from. It's plain disgusting.
  2. The TOILETS - They have no doors, no toilet paper, they have partitions that are waist high (meaning you can have a chat to your neighbour while doing a poo poo), and they STINK (seriously BIG TIME)! I couldn't take a picture of the door-less toilet because the old lady with her pants down would run after me with a chopper
  3. The RUDE PEOPLE - For the first time in my life, I had to FIGHT (literally) for a cab. Never pushed and pulled anyone before... but i did it!
  4. The INSANE TAXI DRIVERS - (including all other motorist) They don't stop at the red light. They go! It's chaotic. When there is a gap on the perpendicular traffic side, they go for it, risking MY life... But I must commend them on their driving skills. Even after dashing through all the red light, I'm still in 1 piece.
  5. The HARRASSMENTS - to buy the cheapo branded goods.

But the bargaining was fun. Though i'm not as good as my sifu (Faye), I think I'm good enough. I passed the test with my RMB$50 shirt.

Food was fantastic. I only had diahhorea once - pretty good for China standard! Check the pictures out. (they're not really in order. I couldn't be bothered)

View from Faye & ZY's apartment. See the great divide - the poorer housing and the rich housing
The first Purple Corn I've seen in my life.

Cute - Don't disturb the growing grass?!?

Feasting on beef noodles from a roadside store. Not sure if BEEF is what we're getting... It could be Dog's meat, Cat's meat or Rat's meat. Who knows? Just eat, don't think so much!

Waiting for my food...

This is the xiao chi (eatery) that we ate in. It's so cheap!
1 plate of dumplings (about 12 pieces) for only RMB$5 = SGD$1.00 = AUD$0.80
1 Bowl of noodle for only RMB$6 = SGD$1.20 = AUD$1.00

The Shanghai Buildings - Looks a lil like Dubai.

At Yu Yuan outside the Tea shop where we got Faye her tea set!

This is the Yummy Xiao Long Bao (Dumpling) with soup inside

The famous Shanghai building - so famous that I forgot its name. Can someone please tell me! I've got really bad memory, especially when it comes to chinese names.

Huo Guo (Steamboat) - Our feast. Every meal is a feast.
