Well, to begin with, I got to the Melbourne airport later than expected. Taking out my luggage, I realized… uh oh! I forgot my passport. Yes.. I freaked out and raced home and back to the airport, hoping I wouldn't miss my flight. Joy can tell you all about me and my driving… I think she was just holding her breath and clutching tightly to the sit, perhaps ripping parts of the cloth of the car seat. Anyway, I made it.
I got to Dubai Monday morning 5am. It was pouring. Dubai gets perhaps 5 days of rain a year. Since I got here, it has been raining (that's 3 days already). Imagine rain in a desert? Nooooo… so obviously drainage is pretty terrible. I was soaking wet (my shoes I mean) .

Anyway, Dubai is a nice city. Just a little too many non-asian. (Yes I know I'm in UAE - United Arab Emirates, and not United Asia Emirates).
Here's some pictures for now...

Passport Saga. Apparently they have a policy in UAE that if you check into the hotel, you have to hand over your passport for a photocopy. This is to ensure that you don't run away without paying. They forgot to return the passport to me! (hence the panic).
Didn't sleep for nights because I just kept on thinking of my passport.

As for work, it is all good fun! Highly stressful but the views are great here. Working on projects I'd never dream I'd be working on... Nice funky stuff.... Got to go to the sites where I did some designs on as well... Here's some photographs of work...

Why does the "late for airport" fiasco not surprise me?
