OZ Day Wkend @ Lakes Entrance

Spent the whole of last week working and flying and working and flying. I should be in the airline industry. Not fun. Another long 300++km drive from Melbourne to Lakes Entrance was a lil dreadful. But it was a well worth drive. After the whole weekend ended, I was dead tired. I needed another long loooong weekend to rest!

Spent the days fishing by the pier. Was meant to hire a boat out to the Lake to fish, but wind was too strong, and the waters were too choppy! It was freezing too.

Preparing at our first fishing stop

That was with 4 layers on for Summer Fishing!

Took a walk along the beach... (supposedly the ninety mile beach, but of course we walked 90m rather than 90 miles)

Beach Posing?

I caught about 20 little fishes! There're heaps of tiny dumb fishes. Why did they bite my bait! I want the big ones! One of the reasons (but not the only reason) is because I like fish on my plate! I know I sound greedy. *grin*

Pier Fishing again - Guys @ work, while I just stand and watch. I'm a princess.

My tiny little dumb fish that was caught about 5 times! (maybe it's a different one, but looks the same to me anyway)

Maybe my fish misses meee

Last shot at the lookout!

It was a nice and tiring long weekend. Just the way I like it.

I'm finally picking my life pieces back together again.

Australia Day

Finally, the first public holiday of the year - AUSTRALIA DAY! (New Year doesn't count)

Didn't have any big plans at all. Weather forecasted a nice and sunny 26 degrees, and I just couldn't stay indoors. I got my golf game this morning with David Chen (there are just too many Davids around, so I had to do the last name thing) and yum cha with 10 others.

St Kilda Beach was the next destination.

Traffic was so bad... but as you can imagine, about a thousand people had the same plan too. After all the weather was fantastic for a day out at the beach. EeLeon and Eelaine flew their kite. The kite crash landed a few times, but after a while, it was up up and (not) away.

I bought a BIG HUGE Havaianas - the inflatable ones. YAY I have a huge slipper for my tiny feet.

I don't really know what to do with it. Maybe take it to the beach, inflate it in the little swimming pool i have at the apartment, or the moonlight cinemas at the gardens! It's huge, it's comfy and it's bright bright ORANGE!

That's Krissy and me - Not really sun tanning.

Nothing beats having a nice cold icecream cone under the warm sun. Had a huge Mango ice cream - YUM my favourite.

David and Andrew striking a pose for???!!?!?

Of course, buying a hug inflatable Havi has its disadvantage. Had to literally squeeze with it in the car. My poor Havis is half deflated. I need to buy a pump now.

That's it for now... It's Lake Entrance trippin tomorrow. We're going fishing. It's eating the fish that motivates me to catch a larger one! Woo hoooooo! Will update more!

moving on...

Back to the stress at work. Too tired doing all these rubbish that I had to spend some time in the toilet to have my little self pity sob.

I'm getting a good change at work now. I'm moving from Melbourne! Woohoo! My transfer just got approved by management with a very unhappy boss (written all over his face). Now awaiting for my package...

i hate the flying in and out and in and out and up and down.

Oh well... exciting and I can't wait to get outta here!

Australia Day this Friday. Long weekend. Get to go out and do my thing. That's it for now...

Day 1 back in Melbourne and guess what?

I'm GRUMPY. Firstly I got a notice that i'm flying out tomorrow. wah lau!! tell me earlier!!!

I'm sitting in the office and it's 9pm. I am NOT working so hard. There is a power outage in Melbourne. The whole city has been shut down. Bush fires got to the power grid somehow.

What would we do without electricity?
NOTHING!

Let's see...
Ice cream's melting.
Cheese and milk turn sour.
Raw food into the bin.
No dinner - I have an electric stove.

Ended up eating about 1 tub of ice cream for dinner - that's the SaraLee Strawberry Cheesecake 1kg tub. I'm feeling sick now.

I got stuck in the elevators for about 45 mins before some fireman came. My knight in sweaty armour. I was in the elevators and I was so grumpy and annoyed. *whine*

It's 41 degrees outside now, and it's stinking hot and i'm ultra grumpy. UNBEARABLE!

That's day 1 for me. Great way to start. I can see myself liking this summer! Love it!
*moan, groan*

Catching ups & more

You think you've got a lot of time to catch up with all your friends when you suddenly realised you've got no time at all to accommodate all of them in.

For all of you who I missed a chance catching up this round, I'm sorry! I'm sure I'll be back again sometime this year (September - if not earlier).

Last friday was spent at the Lams house. Isaac has grown into a big boy. (I am his fairy godmother by the way). 6 months old, but looking just like a 1 year plus baby!

That's Papa Gideon and Baby Isaac.

Mama Evelyne & Happy Isaac

That's me and Isaac. Obviously I'm not very good with babies. He's quite heavy for a baby!

------------------------

Well well... went to this restaurant in Vivo city.I thought the chairs were really cute, so I went in for a quick snap. Haha... It's like a palm shape thing with 2 fingers forming an"O".

Random-ness.... (again)

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Never give a 100%? Yes... You need a back up (even if it's just 1 egg) plan, a back route to everthing. Thought this picture explained it literally. I took it at home when I was helping mum with arranging the eggs in the pretty basket. If the basket is dropped and all the eggs crack, then at least you still have 1 last egg elsewhere.

- That was my lesson learnt from dad a long time ago, but never put it to use because I never understood what it meant until recently.

It's over... my holidays are almost up!

This is the one of the fastest holidays that just zoomed by. Been zooming around so much, that I need a holiday break from my holiday. Eh yah... see... I spent:

  • 6 days in Singapore
  • 7 days in Shanghai
  • 2.5 days in Singapore
  • 2.5 days in KL /M'sia
  • 2 days in Bintan / Ind'sia
  • 5 days in Singapore

Then it's over! Such a hectic holiday. Not to mention, doing some work from home in between. Mmmm... but it's good. Got to catch up with a lot of good ol friends.

Met up with some good ol MGS classmates. Didn't realise it had been 9 years since we all left school. It's going to be our 10th year class reunion next year! How exciting. I can't wait to see everyone. It's going to be so interesting. With some married, some going to get married, some as single as ever... I'm just wondering what it's going to be like!

My MGS friends - Xiujun, Aarti, Jo-Lin, me and Shili

My MGS Swimming Buddy - Shili!

It has been raining non-stop over the last few days. This disrupted our plans of playing golf at Mandai. So we ended up eating roti prata and drinking teh tarik at some indian restaurant. Bring the calories on. Woo hoo.

This advertisement on the golf driving range machine amused me. It reads "TITANIUM, TAKE CONTROL" and "POWER CORRUPTS", "USE IT WISELY". I got quite tickled. As they say little things tickle little minds... I'm easily amused.

Random-ness...

I went to Vivocity - Singapore's newest shopping centre. It looks very much like Chadstone in Melbourne. Nice big open space. There was probably about a million people there during christmas (ok i'm exaggerating), and it didn't feel like one of those crappy crampy malls. Nice. I like Vivo City. Interesting interiors too.

Interior Architecture - I like the lighting (yes I know, it is a work habit)

The One million people I was describing!

Technology! The car park has counters! I sound like a swakoo (country pumpkin), but this is the best invention. I usually would get my parking spot in 5 mins. Woo hoo!

Skygarden / Roof of Vivocity. Has a wading pool. Behind those cute structures is the plant room I think... or some substation?!? I don't know! Just wondering how maintenance crew can get to it without getting their feet soaked.

SBMK Wedding

Weddings are not only a time of congratulations, but also a time of reunion with people you haven't seen in ages.

It was a long wedding day with all the ji mui games in the early morning. The church wedding was one of the most cosy and friendly and un-stressful events I've seen. Everyone was so relax, casual... Just felt like another party we all use to have.

Dinner was good. Food wasn't the main attraction. The picture takings, drinks and the drunk people (you know who you are) was the fun part... and of course not to forget, the bride and groom too!

Enjoy photos of the wedding...

Shanghai Countdown!

Countdown in Shanghai. Besides the fireworks (a mini one), there was nothing really spectacular. Maybe because we were at PuDong and not PuXi.

We were sitting at a cafe along the river (ZY got really good seats for us) waiting around for the clock to strike 12... (just like cinderella - oh wait, maybe she didn't). It was freezing. Unfortunately, it was not snow-ing. It probably was snowing in Beijing... but I don't know. No White New Year for me. =(

Check the view out... and the pictures.
