A lil Adventure...

Journey to Dubai... let's start.
Well, to begin with, I got to the Melbourne airport later than expected. Taking out my luggage, I realized… uh oh! I forgot my passport. Yes.. I freaked out and raced home and back to the airport, hoping I wouldn't miss my flight. Joy can tell you all about me and my driving… I think she was just holding her breath and clutching tightly to the sit, perhaps ripping parts of the cloth of the car seat. Anyway, I made it.

I got to Dubai Monday morning 5am. It was pouring. Dubai gets perhaps 5 days of rain a year. Since I got here, it has been raining (that's 3 days already). Imagine rain in a desert? Nooooo… so obviously drainage is pretty terrible. I was soaking wet (my shoes I mean) .

Anyway, Dubai is a nice city. Just a little too many non-asian. (Yes I know I'm in UAE - United Arab Emirates, and not United Asia Emirates).

Here's some pictures for now...

Indoor Ski Centre

Passport Saga. Apparently they have a policy in UAE that if you check into the hotel, you have to hand over your passport for a photocopy. This is to ensure that you don't run away without paying. They forgot to return the passport to me! (hence the panic).
Didn't sleep for nights because I just kept on thinking of my passport.
As for work, it is all good fun! Highly stressful but the views are great here. Working on projects I'd never dream I'd be working on... Nice funky stuff.... Got to go to the sites where I did some designs on as well... Here's some photographs of work...

Art Gallery in Sharjah (Another state in UAE)

Me at the Gallery

Shooting Club & Golf Course... created all from sand in the middle of the desert.

OKies... that's it for now.... More coming up soon!

Holiday Time... NOT... YES

I'm off to Dubai on Sunday evening! Woo hoo.
Don, if you're reading this now... RING me!!

But not there on Holiday... work work work. A standard Dubai day is like 9 hours/day, 45hours/week. Far out!

So looking forward to a holiday. I'm so tired... It's getting too depressing here in Melbourne.

Merry Christmas to ME. I didn't even have to get a ticket back to sg. saved me a grand!

What to do?

Well, it's Thursday night 8:45pm and just about 2 days away from a decision 20 thousand people has to make.

Just two nights ago, Boss Felipe rang me at 2:45am Melbourne time asking if I could come ASAP. Thought it was only a dream when I woke up. But not anymore when I saw that a phone call actually came in!

My Dubai tripped is organised for this Saturday and I'm meant to be flying off that night. There is this whole stupid lengthy procedure in the company that 10 thousand people (from one office) has to approve an international travel ... and another 10 thousand people screaming their heads off in Dubai saying "no, that's too expensive".

Ticket is all booked, but I don't know if I'm going. Should I pack my bags, or should I not? Should I cancel my ticket back to Singapore (I get a free trip back to Singapore for my holidays if I go to Dubai)... Dilemma time. What should I do?

And, how am I going to finish my Melbourne work in time for my Dubai trip if I wanna go for my Friday night drinks and dinner??
